Needlepoint Tip-Saving Money

Needlepoint Tip- Embroidery Floss Storage
I often use embroidery floss for my needlepoint projects because it is easier find in my area. I alsolike to put the floss on those little "spools" that can be bought a craft stores. :):):):)There are 3 problems with those. The cardboard ones are flimsy, and I have to use the special pen to write on the plastic ones. (read more) by: Barbara

"I got tired of using messy tape to made sure my canvas didn't unravel ..so I now use Elmer's white glue. Apply it along the edges with thumb and forefinger (making sure you will be able to cut that part off later),let it dry and it works quite easily and and inexpensively." -Ellyn

"I take a small piece of yarn and tie my needle threader on to it and then attach the threader a fabric softener dryer sheet. I also use that fabric sheet to run my yarn through once it is on the needle. Makes the stitching smoother and the yarn doesn't tangle or knot as easily." -Susan

"When making a knot in the end of your stitching thread, make a "slip" knot. When removing the knot, grab the tail. This gives you more thread to place in the needle when ending off. It also means you may park a knot in your thread anywhere, even the middle, if you will be needing it to stitch in an opposite direction from the one you are beginning with." -Dakota

Be sure to purchase enough when you are planning for an upcoming project. There is a possibility that if you have to go back and purchase additional thread, even in the same color, that the colors won't be an exact match.
